Welcome to the BIF Book Group

Welcome to the BIF Book Group! This community was launched in March, 2009 by Business Innovation Factory (BIF) chief catalyst Saul Kaplan. His idea: Our community of innovators loves to read, write, and share ideas about good books. We are also blessed with many authors in the BIF community. So why not start a book group?

Our structure is simple and straight-forward. In true BIF fashion, we will innovate as we grow. New members will always be welcome. Suggestions for books will come from our community. We will rotate facilitation responsibility to any member interested and enable all members to pose questions and share ideas with the group. When possible, we will interact directly with the author.

So let's get started. This month we're reading Jeff Jarvis' new book What Would Google Do?. Head to the discussion forum and see what we're talking about.

Gained something in the translation

Tweet: A tweet paraphrased my link-economy line and showed me I’ve been saying more than I thought I have. ** In Twitter today, one @rpaskin paraphrased something I’ve been saying – and said again in my talk at Web 2.0 Expo Tuesday (generously covered in that link by Aneta Hall). My line has been that in [...]

Podcast madness

I had the privilege of being on This Week in Tech with Leo Laporte, John Dvorak, and Baratunde Thurston right after appearing on This Week in Google with the aforementioned Leo, Gina Trapani, and Mary Hodder. Much fun.

The Blue Sweater - Book Review

The Blue Sweater - book review

I spent a good part of my recent birthday stuck on airplanes, re-routed from connecting flights, and sitting on the tarmac instead of getting home. This was my first birthday since my mom died. This was a perfect set-up for self-pity.

Luckily for me, I was traveling with a Kindle full of reading and one actual book, Jacqueline Novogratz's The Blue Sweater. The upside of my endless date with United Airlines was that I read Novogratz's book in one sitting. And self… Continue
